Donald Trump, who used to be president, was found guilty of 34 criminal charges related to forging business documents. A police spokeswoman for New York said it is likely that Trump's gun permit will be taken away. A Trump spokeswoman also said that his gun pass for New York City was taken away after he was charged. CNN was the first to report on the suspension, but the Trump team did not say anything about it. In New York, gun permits are often taken away after a conviction. No one knows for sure when Trump last had a gun, but an NYPD spokesman said that his permit for the city was still good when he was charged in the hush money case in March 2023. Trump has been protected by the Secret Service since his nomination as the Republican candidate for president in 2015. He was convicted on all 34 charges of falsifying business records on Thursday, setting a new record by becoming the first former U.S. president to be convicted of such charges.
